Riyadat Mall

Developing a Unified Visual Identity System

Overview

Located in A’ali, Bahrain, Riyadat Mall is a specialized landmark established by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and Bahrain Development Bank (BDB). As the Creative Lead, I was tasked with moving beyond a standalone logo to bridge the gap between a formal government institution and the modern, energetic spirit of the entrepreneurs it supports.

Unifying a Fragmented Identity

The project began by addressing a "blank slate" problem: the brand lacked the systems needed to scale. To anchor the identity, I established a foundation of color and type that felt both inviting and professional. I chose Effra CC for its supreme flexibility in both Arabic and English, while the color system was split into two distinct paths: a vibrant, high-energy palette for daily engagement and a refined "Corporate Gold" reserved for premium memberships and elite invitations.

Visual Storytelling—The Brand Elements

To give the identity a deeper narrative, I developed three core symbols: The Empowered Woman, The Star, and The Gate. These shapes, pulled directly from the logo’s geometric DNA, represent an entrepreneur’s journey—from the initial spark of an idea to walking through the gateway of success. By creating these elements, I ensured the brand had a purposeful visual language that could live across digital and physical touchpoints. Because the mall houses diverse services from spas to business incubators, a "one-size-fits-all" icon set wasn't an option. I engineered a custom library following strict geometric rules to ensure every asset feels like part of the Riyadat family. Whether displayed on a small smartphone screen or a large physical sign, I prioritized clarity and stylistic consistency to keep the brand legible at any scale.

Brand Guidelines & Retail Standards

The project culminated in a comprehensive Brand Manual, a master guide covering everything from email signatures to social media templates. A critical strategic fix was the introduction of Storefront Signage Rules. By standardizing the exact measurements and placement of window stickers for all tenants, I eliminated visual clutter and helped the management maintain a unified, high-end look across the entire retail destination.
